About Street Whale 2021

The Street whale 2021 was crowned by the construction of a giant whale with plastic bottles collected on the beach. Exchanges on the involvement of communities in the process of creation and management of marine protected areas, the mitigation of Illegal, Unreported and Unregulated fishing, conflicts related to the use of maritime space, marine pollution and coastal erosion, as well as the contribution of fishermen through participatory science were discussed. These debates resulted in the formulation of eight (08) main recommendations that will serve as a roadmap for better management of marine biodiversity in Cameroon.
