What we are looking for:

As the fundraiser, you will be part of a dynamic team and responsible for raising the funds necessary to achieve AMCO’s mission. We are looking for a bright, organised, and energetic individual to develop and implement strategic fundraising initiatives. The Fundraising Officer is responsible for developing and implementing fundraising strategies to support the marine conservation projects of the NGO. He/she will work closely with field teams and partners to ensure the financial sustainability of initiatives.

Location: Remote work position, no specific location required but preferably based in Douala (or Yaoundé) with potential visit to AMCO different work sites (Dizangue, Limbe, Douala, Kribi).

Responsibilities:

Identifying Funding Opportunities

- Research and analyse funding opportunities from donors, foundations, government agencies, and private companies.

- Compile and maintain a database of international and local donor organisations and individuals (international foundations, bilateral and multilateral agencies and private corporations offering donations).

- Suggest and implement other innovative ideas for effective resource mobilisation.

Proposal Writing

- Write compelling project proposals tailored to the requirements of donors and ensure their timely submission.

- Collaborate with technical teams to ensure that proposals reflect the needs and objectives of the projects.

- Effectively convey the organisation’s mission, vision, and programs to potential donors.

Managing Donor Relationships

- Establish and maintain relationships with donors and potential partners.

- Participate in meetings and events to promote the NGO and its projects.

Monitoring and Reporting

- Ensure follow-up on secured funding and write progress reports for donors.

- Evaluate the impact of funding on projects and propose adjustments if necessary.

Strategic Monitoring

- Stay informed about trends and developments in marine conservation and NGO funding.

- Participate in training and workshops to improve fundraising skills.

Requirements:

- Degree in project management, sustainable development, environmental sciences, or a related field

- 3 years of fundraising experience

- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills in French and English

- Ability to identify funding priorities

- Strong interpersonal and collaborative skills

- Passion for marine conservation and commitment to the NGO's mission.

- Proactive, creative, and problem-solving mindset.

Preferably :

- 2 years of experience in a non-profit setting

Conditions: Full-time position with a fixed-term contract, 1 year renewable

Starting date: August 2025
